Leopards are good runners. When the lions were still hunting in groups, the leopards had already caught up with the prey and had a feast. Brothers settled accounts with each other, and even cats with cats, often fighting over food.
Leopards hunt alone, and the whole family is not hungry when they are full, so they often encounter food storage problems. Cheetahs are such inexhaustible prey that they hide them in trees for the next meal. These meals are sometimes robbed by other rivals, especially lions. Among cats, many can climb trees. Leopards are good at climbing trees, but it is difficult for larger tigers and lions to climb trees.
In fact, cats prefer trees with some curvature, rather than upright pine and cypress trees. Fortunately, there are also some “crooked melons and dates” on the African savannah. Anyway, there are no competitors around, so just grow. As a result, leopards often use these trees to catch prey, and they can even jump directly from the 89-meter-high tree to hunt, which is nothing at all.
But the smell of food also attracts lions. When the lion climbed to the tree on the resource, the food would be snatched by the lion when the leopard was not at home. But there is a problem with lions climbing trees, that is, they are overweight. Leopards often place their prey on some twigs. It is not easy for lions to get prey, and fat lions often break off branches.
If you are injured, you can’t eat it for nothing. And even if the leopard falls from the tree, it’s fine. It can directly pick up the food and run away, and the lion will injure its bones, which is not conducive to its survival on the grassland.
